Holly, Vt., and Hillsborough, Calif.'s Kelly Marren led the U.S. halfpipe crew, both finishing in sixth Wednesday in the 2010 Snowboard Junior World Championships held at Cardrona Alpine Resort in New Zealand. Taku Hiraoka of Japan and Slovenia's Cilka Sadar won gold.

Jay, VT - Jay Peak Resort will welcome visitors this winter with $13 million in improvements. Topping the list are increases in snowmaking coverage, an enclosed beginner lift, a new Nordic center, an indoor ice arena, a parking garage, a state-of-the-art ticketing system, and a new groomer. The enhancements are part of the northern Vermont ski and snowboard resort's ongoing $140 million revitalization effort.

The day, led by Sean Busby, a 26-year-old professional snowboarder with type 1 diabetes, promotes courage and confidence and shows children with type 1 or type 2 they can overcome mental and physical challenges.

Squaw Valley, CA - Squaw Valley USA has announced the appointment of Scott Clarkson to the newly-created position of Vice President of Marketing and Sales at the California ski resort. Clarkson will be responsible for resort marketing and sales at Squaw Valley Ski Corporation to include The Village at Squaw Valley USA and Squaw Valley Central Reservations. Clarkson will join the Squaw Valley team this September and will report to Senior Vice President and General Manager Mike Livak and to new CEO Andy Wirth.
