Swiss skier Didier Cuche has a broken rib and could miss this weekend's World Cup races in Italy. The super-G world champion fell during training last week at Val d'Isere, France. His Web site says he had an MRI exam Monday, showing a broken fifth rib on his left side. The injury is described as "awkward but not serious." Former slalom world champion Ivica Kostelic of Croatia is expected to compete at the Winter Olympics after having the sixth knee operation of his career. Croatia's ski federation said in a statement that Kostelic had surgery on Sunday to repair the meniscus on his right knee and that his ligaments were unaffected.
